Your voice must be true

Your voice must be true to you, so it needs to reflect, not only what you think & feel but also your physical Presence.

Your search for intellectual and emotional motive will inform the words and make the speech alive. you can further this process by becoming as sensitive as possible to the physical make up of your voice in relation to your body.

The voice is incredibly sensitive to any feelings of unease, or if you are not on top of situation. Under tension, it goes up slightly in pitch and takes on a curious un focussed quality. The sound alienates the listner, because his ear is being assaulted, and not being drawn in, to listen.

This also cuts out the lower pitches of the voice and negates inflection. The listner becomes more aware of the sound than of the word.

Voice is the means...

Your voice is the means by which, in everyday life, you communicate with people. Though, of course, how you present yourself - your posture, movement, dress and involuntary gesture - gives an impression of your personality. It is through your speaking voice that you convey your thoughts and feelings.

The image you have of your own voice is often disturbingly different from the way it actually sounds to other people.

Tensions and limitations always come from a lack of trust in yourself. Either you are over anxious to communicate, or the image you want to convey is not effective or your voice lacks the right energy.
